I have a Kitchenaid model KSCS25insso1 side by side counter depth refrigerator. A few months ago I noticed the divider between the freezer and fresh food section was staying warm most of the time. Discovered that the condenser coils were dirty so I cleaned them and this seemed to take care of the problem. Shortly thereafter we sold our house and moved to a rent house while our new house is being built. Shortly after moving I turned on the fridge to see if the defrost circuit was working and the compressor would not turn on. I paid one of the on line services to diagnose the problem and they felt it was the invertor, which I replaced and the compressor turned on. However the defrost problem popped up again and the freezer would not chill below 17 degrees. While researching this the compressor would not turn on.
I sent off the main control board for repair and just got it back and the condenser fan works, but the compressor will not turn on. I checked the compressor terminals and got 6.8 ohms between all of the terminals. When I measured from ground I got 6.8 ohms on the top right and bottom terminal and .3 from the top left terminal.
Any suggestions? Thank you, Dale

Looks like your compressor windings are shorted to ground.

Thank you for your help with this. I think the compressor is still under warranty.
