Here are my questions: Question #1 How do I tell if I own a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator? Base Model Number KBFA25ERSS Serial Number ECS4902334 There are two KBFA25ERSS model type differences: one with a “– 00” or a “– 01” as a model number suffix for the extended base model number. What is the difference in machines so I can tell? I checked with part numbers and most appear the same. Question # 2 The problem which I am experiencing is that the lower Freezer works fine at 0 degrees but the refrigerator is not cold (should be about 38 degrees and is room temperature and I don’t feel any air flow. I did notice that there was some frost buildup on the back vents of the freezer portion. I am assuming that I need to replace a faulty defrost system or some damper but need your knowledge of how and where to replace it . Also the parts or part numbers would be very helpful. Thanks. Question # 3 I was about to remove the back freezer metal panel and removed the 4 screws to see if the fan is turning but need some assistance or the trick to remove it. I also removed the icemaker screws, and shut off the water but don’t know how to remove the water inlet tube to the icemaker as I feel this is required to be removed to get at the back metal panel in the freezer. Question # 4 I bought this refrigerator about 2 and one-half years ago and I am assuming that since I can’t find my receipt this is still out of warrantee. I paid about 2595.00 for this refrigerator and can’t believe how short lived this one is. My last refrigerator lasted well over 20 years without a single failure. I also understand that energy efficient means underpowered motors are used to conserve energy but the frustration (large food loss) in this purchase is greater to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. JohnP.

I forgot to mention that for some reason the refrig door on the left movable metal strip was extrmely not to the touch and made the door closing more difficult due to the heat expansion I am guessing.

The first thing I would do is check the condenser fan motor (#24 on the diagram) and make sure the condenser (#18) is clean. Hopefully the Service manual will help.
