I bought this used for my son and tested it and the first try it filled with water and spun it all out but second Time it filled and when it was time to agitate or wash it just makes a buzzing sound. Can't get it to spin either, just buzzes like the motor is locked up or trying to go.

May be something in the drain pump jamming the motor. Pump is attached to one end of the motor shaft. Open the front panel, unclip the pump and pull it off the motor shaft and see if it will now go into spin. To open front panel, remove the two screws securing the angled transition panel between dryer and washer. Tilt panel down and pull it out. Remove the two screws located behind the washer top and pull top forward. Disconnect lid switch and remove top panel. Remove the two screws inside the top of front panel. Lift straight up on front panel and remove it. Pump is at lower front left attached to the motor.

Thanks, I will pull it apart tonight. Any way I can run 120v to the washer itself to test it? I have it in a garage and it is not near a 220 outlet anywhere. Oh, and I used a cup to bail out all the water, any to drain the remaining water, can't spin it out? Maybe when the pump is pulled it will drain out there?

You would have to pull the hoses off the pump to get any more water out. The only part of the machine that runs off 240vac is the dryer heat element. You could disconnect the power cord from the terminal block at the rear of the machine and connect a standard 120vac cord between neutral and the L2 terminal on the terminal block to operate the washer only.

Thanks Eric, you are a big help. I pulled the washer apart per your instructions and popped off the pump but didn't have power to the unit so I turned the pump with a screwdriver and it was free and I turned the motor shaft and it was free and the washer drum is free too so maybe something with motor or is there a start capacitor to check? I'm assuming the transmission or drive part that the motor goes to is free? I will get a power cord and wire it to 120v and see what it does. I also just pulled the drain hose off the back and then pulled the hose through the inside and laid it on the ground to drain the rest of the water out so it's empty. I'll try and look at it tomorrow after work and see what I get with power. if it stops raining I will bring it home and then I can work on it easier in my garage. There should be a start capacitor. It's generally mounted to the motor or the inside of the back panel of the washer. When you get power to the washer, set it to spin and if motor just hums, with pump off, rotate motor shaft CW quickly by hand to see if it will start. If it does, capacitor or connections to it may be faulty but could also be faulty motor switch or timer.

I didn't really have time to mess with the washer but I pulled the wires and connected a standard 120 cord to it and still just a buzzing. I might just pull the motor if it just slides out and try and put power directly to it and see what happens. If you apply power directly to the motor, you must apply it to the start winding with capacitor in line as well as to one of the run windings.
