Dryer will shut off in timed mode but runs for hours in auto dry mode. We have replaced the timer and it still won't shut off. Any suggestions?

Does the timer advance at all in auto dry cycle? i.e. does it advance through part of the cycle but stops short at the end and won't go to OFF?

A faulty timer is the only thing that can cause this. If you buy from APP, it can be returned if it doesn't fix the problem but if the timer does in fact advance in auto dry but stops short of going into OFF, there is nothing else but the timer that can cause that.
