Yesterday our Kenmore Elite top-load washer ran fine until it got to the rinse spin cycle. The motor started "chugging" like it was starting and stopping. The tub was moving in fits and starts along with the motor chugging. I was able to get the spin cycle to start normally after "flicking" the lid switch a few times. Any suggestions what may need to be replaced, etc. are greatly appreciated.
It only happened the one time, but we haven't run another load yet after this one with the problem.
Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions, Eric. This happened after the drain.

Next time it happens, switch to spin in delicate cycle so that slow speed is selected versus fast speed. If it works ok in slow speed but cuts off/on in fast speed, problem is likely the speed switch. Speed switch is bypassed during the 2 minute drain.
