The ice maker is broken the heater in there burned out I'm not sure if it's related. Any help would be great. If anyone has the tech sheet thay would help a lot also. I'm out of ideas and need cold food. Oh also I have already cleaned th coils on the bottom. The fan insode the refrigerator does work nor sure its eunning as much as it should, how do these refrigerators sense tempature?

Here are your parts

See the attachment for a tech sheet

Is the 40 degrees in the freezer or fresh food side?
When you did the defrost were the evaporator coils clogged solid with ice/frost before the manual defrost?
Did you check the defrost thermostat? It should be 0 ohms when frozen. Also it should be 56,000 ohms at room temperature.
Also did it run OK for a while after the manual defrost? This would be an indication of a defrost problem as it will run OK until the ice/frost builds up on the evaporator coils again.

They use thermistors which change resistance with temperature.
The control board then uses this resistance to regulate the temperature

Thank you for the reply and tech sheet. The manual defrost didnt seem to help, the 40° in in the fresh food area the freezer is working fine. The ice machine is fried and the fan for the fresh food area is attached to the same assembly it does run but the temp will still not get down to the set temp.

Pull the freezer back panel and describe the frost pattern, should be totally frosted with light frost.
