Hi there, I tried searching, but was not able to find the exact problem to my fridge. I bought this about 1 year ago - and the warranty just ran out. Very disappointed as my previous fridge lasted for like 15 years (Admiral brand).
The current one that's not cooling is Whirlpool Top Freezer refrigerator - model: WRT311SFYW
Problem - it keeps running and running - but it's not cold or even cool at all on both the freezer and the fridge. The fan is running and I can feel the air. The compressor seems to be working as well (humming sound) - no clicking sounds or other noise from the second it is plugged in.
Greatly appreciate any input or if you need more info, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Feel the compressor. If it is vibrating but tubing not hot, you have a bad compressor/ refrigerant leak. Might want to try a new compressor start device to confirm.

Thanks for your reply Richappy. The compressor does vibrate and runs hot. The copper tubes are not hot. Does that mean I have a bad compressor? Or refrigerant leak? Or both. Thanks!

Probably both, if it failed over a short period of time, you have an evaporator leak which ruins the compressor.

Thanks, Richappy - can you please tell me how to test if there was a leak?
My goal now is really to confirm that the compressor is dead before buying a new fridge. I don't think I can undertake replacing a compressor since I am such a newbie on this. Thanks again.

Only way to confirm is with a gauge on the low side of compressor.
