How do you remove the top cap of this vent? we are trying to replace the harness switch which is faulty and therefore cannot raise the vent to get at the top cap easily.

Move the vent to the up position. There is a screw under the top cap at each end. Remove the screws. Pry off the end cap next to the touch pad. You can now remove the top. Slide the touch pad assembly out of the top cap. When installing the new touch pad use the old wires to thread the new wire assembly through the vent. Cut off the old touch pad and tape the new connector to the old wire. Gently pull the new wire assembly through the vent housing from the box where the main controller is located.
