Been without a proper working refrigerator for 2 months. Stopped working in June. Repairman replaced control board (WR55X10942) in back. Prior to failure the Refrigerator was actually leaving a layer of ice in the top of the cup on the top shelf so it was functioning. After board replacement the freezer went back to working but the refrigerator doesn't keep the temperature at the correct range. Can't say it isn't working as it maintains between 52-58 degrees but that is not the correct temperature range for the refrigerator.

Repairman showed me the blow out on the board and told me it controlled the compressor so wasn't expecting anything other than correct operation after repair. The evaporator fan was also replaced and I replaced the thermistor in the fresh food box. There is no frost build up on the evaporator so it isn't the defrost system. Just don't want to keep buying and replacing parts if an expert has the answer. Repairman who is an appliance repairman (ie not an expert an any particular model) has thrown his hands up in the air so I need to find the solution on my own. I'm looking at the Encoder Board Assembly as the next item to try or the damper assembly however that door does seem to open and close on its own just fine.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Took Refrigeration and Heating in college but that was 36 years ago and I never entered the field.

The board comes with instructions to cut a thermistor wire, the guy probably did that right.
I would confirm you have no ice clog in the air return vents. If ok, measure the freezer temperature and post.
