After much reading and head scratching, My problem sounds like a few different things. It will not heat on Automatic, only on Timed Heat (High or Low). Even then it doesn't seem to be as hot as it was or heat up as fast as it did before. I replaced the heating element assuming that was the issue...it was not. Went to Harbor Freight and bought a DMM. I have reset the breaker multiple times and verified I am getting 240V out of the receptacle. From reading the forums here it sounds like my timer. Before I buy something else I don't need, what steps come next?

I had read that these timers were a common problem and the contacts burn out. That was my next guess but wanted an expert to call it as my first guess was incorrect. Thank you, I'll get the part ordered and keep you updated!

Wow, I ordered the part last night a 16:05 and it arrived at my doorstep 16 hours later. I must say I am highly impressed with the speed of delivery and I saved $10.00 compared to buying it locally. It was a 5 minute fix and thanks to fairbank56! If only I had asked the question first instead of assuming it was the heating element going bad. Thanks, this place is great!

I'm having the same problem but with an Amana NED7500VW0. Do you think it is also the timer? Seems weird that the timer would control heat. By the way, I didn't notice if this other one is gas or electric but mine is electric. Thanks in advance!

As long as you symptoms are the same as mine, I would say yes...the timer completely fixed my problem. It has worked perfectly since replacement. And my wife and children abuse it regularly.
