Like the title says the evap. of the fridge side froze up and even had ice in

the fan. I thawed everything out and seem to be working decent but not up

to par. I have two restaurant style temp gauges on the middle shelf and are

reading around 45 degrees when the fridge is reading 34. If I turn on the

fridge power cool the temp goes down and is the normal range. I'm thinking maybe the fan on

fridge side is not working. I verified it was working when I pulled it by applying a 6vdc lantern

battery to it and turned fine so maybe a control board??

Maybe the thermistor froze and changed the resistance?


IDK... any help would be great... thanks

I checked the temperature after my post and it was in the food safe range. I got a weird error earlier pc er and reset it and so far it has not come back.

This morning the fridge was at 40 degrees (two thermometer in the middle of the fridge reading the same). This does not seem right to me if the fridge is set at 34. The fridge is reading 34 on the display. I'm sure the the lower compartments are colder but this doesn't sound right considering I on the coldest setting.

I'm still freezing up the evaporator on the fridge side. I think it might be the temp sensor(it's reading 870 ohms at 50 degrees). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help..lol.. So after searching on the net I found a procedure for testing. You put the thermistor in a glass of ice water and let it sit for 5 minutes. You should see a ohm reading of 16.3k ohms +/- 5 %.
