I have changed the by-metal thermostat, checked the defrost coil, have continuity, air flow seems to be ok, I know the passage is open, and the fan is working, I also cleaned under the fridge. When I take the panel off the back of freezer the coils are not full of ice., just a little frosty. The temp in the fridge won't go below 50 degrees... help

Here are your parts. Parts for Whirlpool ED5VHEXVB00 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.comIs the evaporator/freezer fan running? What is the freezer temperature? It should be between 0 and 5 degrees F. You said the evaporator coils are a little frosty but is it a fairly even coating or is it just frosty in one area (usually where the freon enters the coils. |

The freezer is zero, and the evaporator coils are a little frosty all over..I now have both controls, (freezer and refrig) at max cold, and now see about 42 degrees in the refrig..I don't feel I should have to max out my controls to reach this temp...thanks

Are the vents lower down on the side wall which separates the two sections clear on both sides? If not this may be impeding the air flow.
You did not say, is the evaporator/freezer fan running nice and strong whenever the compressor is on? It is required to push cold air into fresh food section.
Is the diffuser (item 7 in section 02) open all the way? If you click on it a new page will open with more info on it. There is a video. |
