Instructions to remove plastic cover from relay call for inserting a flat blade screwdriver into upper slot, press down until cover is released from catch. I could not proceed further because, even though I was trying to be careful not to apply undue pressure, the pastic piece broke on me. I tried prying the edge of the cover out by inserting an old fashioned can opener's tip between the cover and the body of the compressor. I thought that because the tip of the can opener is shaped into a slight curve, I would get enough leverage to free the cover from its catch. I didn't work.

My question: What other option is left to remove that cover? Can a screwdriver be inserted between the relay and the compressor to extract the relay AND the cover together? I have to install a new relay anyway and it comes with a new cover.

Thanks in advance for all tghe help you can give. Great forum, by the way.
