Hello all,

I have a GE fridge with a bottom freezer drawer that is maybe 5-6 years old. Over the past few days, I notice that it runs a little warm. All the fans and compressor seem to work. The freezer does keep water frozen but ice cream is soft. The fridge seems OK but might be a tad warm (might just be me being paranoid).

I had someone come out to take a look at it and he couldn't see anything obviously wrong. He suggested I wait about a day or 2 and see if anything improves - if not he thinks it might be the motherboard.

What are signs that a motherboard is going bad? Is there anything else it might realistically be?

Thank you for any advice.

Check the freezer back panel for ice. If present, remove the panel. If total, heavy frost, defrost the coils and after a few hours, check the freezer temperature and post.
