About 1 year ago, when I would push the "start" button it would kick over but then stop. If I held the button down , the dryer would work. When the repair man came , it started right up for him ! He told me to make sure the dryer was in the "Off" position when I was done. That has worked until yesterday, when I hit the "start" button it would "start' then quit. It would work if held down. After trying several times......now it wont start at all

Here are your parts
Parts for Kenmore Dryer 11074992300 - AppliancePartsPros.com

If you go to the Sears parts site they have actual part breakdown diagrams but do not share these with other vendors.

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

I would unplug the unit and swap the heater and motor relays.
I think they are the same but double check this.
If it now runs OK replace the bad relay.

If this does nothing then check the timer contact sets (see the tech sheet).
Could be that it needs replacing.

Be sure the unit is unplugged wien working on it.
