My GE range hot cooktop light stays on long after burner surface completely cooled down. It seems to be an issue with a sensor because everything else work correctly. How can I fix it?

I cannot find the parts for this unit.
Are you sure it has the "O" in the model number?

Each element has a limiter in it.
This limits the maximum temperature of the element.
It also turn on the hot surface light.
Sounds like one of these is shorted (welded shut) so the hot surface light is on all the time.

I googled my Model number and it came up JBP73SLSS with this link:

http://products.geapplia...ecPage&Sku=JBP73SLSS

There is no O (actually a zero) in model number.

I will try to open up the top and troubleshoot by removing the elements one by one to see if I can find the bad part.
