Have an Amana BRF20TE and it is cooling intermittently. I have been searching around a lot to find answers and think this is what I have it narrowed down to. The Defrost seems to be working. This fridge has a Adaptice control board but found instructions to do a manual defrost. All components seem to be working well. The fridge was unplugged for a month and I plugged it in and ran great for 3 days. Fridge temp constant around 38-40, freezer always kept my ice cubes frozen. I did notice that a couple times I opened the freezer and the Evap. fan was not running, but the compressor and condenser were. After those 3 days I noticed that the fridge temp was at 55-60, but the fridge still kept my cubes solid! I have a feeling it is either the control board or the evaporator fan motor. I was just wondering the best way to check. I can not seem to get the control board out, it is way under the fridge and I was hoping to test the motor first, just wondered if anyone can help me out. Sorry for the long description. I also wondered about the cold control, It seems to kick everything on when I turn it to a colder setting, but might need to check that as well. Thanks in advance for any help!!! Really appreciate it!

If the evaporator motor is 115 volt unit, plug it in the wall outlet. If it runs, replace the adaptive defrost board.

Richappy - Thanks for the reply! I did some more digging last night, I know that the Evap. Fan runs because the compressor and fan were on and I have pulled the back panel and found the fan spinning just as it should. Additionally, all the defrost components seem to be doing what they are supposed to because there is just a little frost on the coils and I did a manual defrost and everything melted well. So now Im at a loss, I really thought the fan was the culprit, is it something that can just run intermittently? I have checked it before and found the compressor and fan running, but the Evap. Fan was not running. Does this mean a problem? or are some fans only run as needed? Thanks for the help.
