I really need some help here because the wife is losing faith in me. Just because I can fix tractors and cars, and she thinks I can fix refrigerators...

Our 1998 Kenmore freezer drain line keeps freezing over. The drain tube is NOT plugged as I been able to work a plastic coated wired all the way to the bottom of the drain line.

I did try wrapping copper wire around the defrost heater and extending it into the drain hole but that only worked till the wire corroded from the heat and lost good contact.

I tested the defrost heater and it has continuity but I don't remember the ohm value. It wasn't zero or infinity. The defrost thermostat does cycle on and off when placed in hot and cold water.

Any suggestions on how to continue troubleshooting or parts to replace next? :confused:
