My ASKO dishwasher has sprung a leak. When I observe from below while my helper pours water into the unit, the leaking starts whenever the water level goes above the plastic locking ring above the drain.
I suppose there must be an o-ring under the ring, which has perished and allows the water to leak past.
The first question is how to get that plastic ring out. I tried tapping the inside lugs gently, but it doesn't move. It's only plastic, and new ones are available, but before I start building up a special tool, does anyone have experience with getting these things out?

Well, I can reply to that opening question now, and perhaps save other members some effort. The plastic locking ring at the ASKO bottom has four inside lugs. I cut a 3 3/4 inch length of 1/4 inch aluminum plate and it snugs up nicely on two opposite lugs. A couple of crescent wrenches, one to grip the center of the aluminum plate and a second to turn the first wrench and the locking ring came out without issue.
I didn't find an o-ring under it though. Probably it is fitted on the under side, between the tub surface and the pump housing.
Ah, what a help it would be to have an illustrated parts diagram for this machine.

Well, I can bring this thread to a close.
I did disassemble the ASKO, and yes, the o-ring is on the underside of the tub. There was nothing wrong with it. So on further testing, I discover that there are actually a string of pinholes along where the edge of that filter screen screws down. ASKO does warrant the stainless tub for 25 years, and have offered me a rebate amount toward a new dishwasher.
I have a new ASKO DW on order now. If any member needs good used parts, motors, etc. from this model 1475 then please advise. I shall hold it a week or so to see whether anyone responds.
