I have a 10 yo Maytag-Performa washer. I don't know the model #.
It makes a grinding noise and occassionally will go on to complete the cycle. Other times it won't do anything. Sometimes there is a odor of burning. I have tried all the different cycles to no avail. PLEase aDVISE. :eek:

most often the bearing of the machine has gotten water in it and is making a very loud noise like a plane taking off especially during the spin portion of the cycle.. At 10 years, probably better off replacing the machine...
