I'm sure this posted somewhere but was unable to locate. My parents have been in FL for several months. I've been checking on house. Within the last 2 weeks the fridge has stopped cooling and freezing. There is power to appliance as the light works and so does the water dispenser. When plugged in I hear nothing kick on, just the light on. Any suggestions?

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool ED5PHEXNB00 Refrigerator - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

Try turning the temperature control up/down some not to off.
If it fires up replace the temperature control thermostat re: it is sticking open.

If the above does nothing.
Unplug the unit then plug it back in to see if it starts up.
If it does I would replace the adaptive defrost board.

If nothing above works
Unplug the unit
Short the Orange and Red wires at the thermostat together.
Just make sure that it does not short to anything else. Then plug it in.
If it fires up replace the thermostat.
If it does nothing replace the control board.
