Water will leak from rear of washer when initiating the start of cycle.
BTW....noticed that the drum is loose.

Any thoughts?

Can you post the model number for us? Thanks

Operating the machine with the cabinet off should enable you to determine the source of the leak. If it is on the left side it is probably a hose, if it is on the right side it is probably coming from at or near the inlet valves.

Let us know if you need further help, along with the model number.

Good luck!

Sorry, that number does not come up, can you check it again.

Anyway, let us know what happens when you run the machine with the cabinet off. You will have to by pass the lid switch. You should be able to see the problem.

Good luck

Model: 110-82884700
Series: 80

Cabinet off ? By that do you mean the lid in the upright position?

I can see water fill into the washer drum, but seems as if the drum isn't completely level.

What about a tub balance spring?

This washer is > 20 years old and I have never had a problem with it! Amazing washer that I sincerely want to keep running.:D

Ok, good, that's the right model number, thanks

What you need to do is remove the cabinet. This video will show you how, and you can stop after you have the cabinet off.

You will then need to by pass the lid switch by taking an insulated piece of solid copper wire, making a u out of it with the ends exposed and placing it solidly into the pastic coupling that comes from the console. Place it in the outer two holes.

You can now run you machine and see where it is leaking. Be very careful and only do this to diagnose the problem. It is not safe to operate your machine like this.

You will also see three suspension springs, and I would replace them given the age of the machine. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. That should fix your balance problem. Also make sure the machine itself is level.

If everything else is working right, you should be all set indefinitely. Eventually your motor coupling will fail, but now you will know how to fix that too!

Let us know how it turns out

You will have to spend a few bucks, but this is a really good repair manual for your machine and I highly recommend it if you are going to do any repairs.
