Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 3/27/2012(UTC) Posts: 22		I am trying to repair a GE top-load clothes washer. It fills, but it would not agitate. The green led in the circuit flashes 4 times indicating a bad mode shifter. Thank God I was able to disassemble it. I checked the "AUPO" thermal fuse and it appears to be good as it reads continuity as well as the (winding) wiring. What do you think could be the problem? Something else: Somebody replaced the fuse that goes with the rest of the wires on the right hand side from top to bottom with a piece of wire. Could this missing fuse be creating the mode shifter error?

If it still won't work and you get the error code again, sounds like a faulty motor/inverter. The jumping out of the fuse would have no effect on operation. Did somebody already replace the motor/inverter at some point? New ones require the removal of the fuse which is replaced with the jumper. Eric
