Hello,

Well I never thought I would be asking this question, but how do I get the top off of this GE dryer. Every thing I can find on the net tells me there are screws at the top side of the door opening. When you open the door there are no screws anywhere (outside or inside). Is it possible that the top just prys off. I see two pieces of metal about an 1" long that could be clips to hold it together, but am afraid of chipping the enamel, by just
prying on it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

This is on of the GE models that frigidaire made. The top is removed by pushing in on two clips in the crack between the top and the front with a screwdriver. Clothes Dryer Repair Guide

Thank you very much, I assumed that to be the case, but did not want to chip the finish.

Thank you very much.
