Hi,
I can usually fix most things with research but this one has me stumped.
I have a GE Fridge/Freezer that suddenly stopped cooling. Both the fridge and freezer sections are warm. My model # is GSH25JSTFSS.
Here is what I am finding. The compressor is running but is neither hot nor cold to touch. The fan between the compressor and the condenser assembly is also running. The copper tubing running to and from the condenser assembly is cool/cold but by no means freezing. There is no buildup of frost or ice anywhere on tubing, coils, etc...
Did a general vacuuming of back and underneath but was not very dusty.
The evaporator coils inside the freezer compartment are not forming any ice on them either. The fan within that compartment is working fine. I can turn up and down the temperature on both the fridge and freezer to either turn the fridge on/off. It is reacting to the change in temperature I set it to.
The fridge sounds and seems to be running normal as if it were working properly.
Looked at the circuit board and nothing appears out of ordinary or burned.
The water line did stop dispensing water from the water dispenser on the front about 2 months ago but think it was temporarily frozen. It's been working good ever since. Thought I would include that in case there was a connection to this issue.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Spent all day researching and nothing to show for it or than having now a working knowledge of how these work.
Please help.
Peter

That would be great if that were the issue. Quick, easy fix. I'm not sure though that's my issue. Please let me know if you find out more, as I will do the same.

Will do. My symptoms are the same, but have one difference. I had roaches in the system board. I got the fridge off craigslist for free, luckily I have it outside for now.
