The receipt shows model number as a WDF510PAYW, the above number came from the service sheet found in the kick panel.
Heating element not working. I ran the diagnostics from the service sheet. Got a 6-4 (inlet water float switch open) 6-6 (cool water) and a 7-1 (no heat).
I have an ammeter and know how to use it. The kick plate is off, but lots of stuff in the way, unless there are wires or a plug up front for the element, there is no way to to check the element without pulling the dishwasher. Asking questions before I do so.
I am running a cycle without soap to check water temp at this time.

I recently changed a water heater in the home and figured I would see if there was a screen plugged. There is a hose bib type connector accessable in front, if figured if present it would be there. I pulled it, bunch of black crap came out, screen on dishwater side of the connection. Whew... If the filter was plugged, would it cause the open switch fault? I will run diagnostics again.

Tried running, no water, probably lost pump priime. I poured a quart of water in the dish area ran the cycle and it is spraying again. Gary

Thanks for the reply. That looks like the correct parts listing. The fuse was one thing I wanted to check before I pulled the dishwasher, it is not on the parts list. The service sheet also mentions a fuse, but I could not figure out where it was. It may be behind the buttons on the door? but under the kick panel is where I figured it would be. Saw nothing resembling a fuse under there.
Where is the control board located, any idea?
I also thought I may be able to check continuity of the heating element if I knew the right connector pin location. the connectors are right up front. I imagine I am just going to have to bite the bullet and pull the thing to check the heating element. Thanks again, Gary

Should be in the door behind the controls.
Once you get at the control board you should be able to check the heater circuit there (P4-4 to P4-3). |

Ignore the 6-6 you probably didnt heat the water before you ran the dishwasher.
The 6-4 could be the float got stuck in the up position and the continuity of the fill circuit was opened or the plug was off the solenoid or something.
The 7-1 could be as simple as no water in the dishwasher when it called for heat and it heats by circulating the water up and over the heater, no circ, no heat.... could be electrical as well.
If this model has a fuse it will kill the whole dishwasher...

The heating element shows no continuity. This dishwasher is only 14 months old. Do I replace the rubber washers also?
The kitchen is getting a new floor so the unit is out. Anything else I should look at or replace while it is out? thanks for all the comments.. gary

I lost prime when I broke the connection to check the screen in the inlet, so no water. I fixed the problem.
Is the float fairly accessible with the unit out? I should look now if it may be a problem.
