The rear shelf supports for the crisper shelves are broken. They look like they are part of the liner, not bolt-ons or screw-ins. I spoke to a local repair person and he said there is a generic shelf support kit sold by Whirlpool with support studs that look like drywall toggle bolts. I was unable to find any such kit online.

Anyone familiar with this?

I ended up making my own supports. This is what I did:

1. Get a wooden dowel from Lowe's which is about the same diameter as the broken support.
2. Insert a small stick into the hole in the liner, note how far it goes (should be about 3/4 of an inch).
3. Mark that length on one end of the dowel rod.
4. Take a chisel and shape the dowel end to fit the hole in the liner.
5. Measure and mark the dowel at an additional 1.25in.
6. Cut at this mark.

You now have a 2in stub that you can insert into the hole in the liner.

7. Take a hot glue gun, insert a small dollop of glue into the hole in the liner, quickly insert the stub.
8. Hold it for a few seconds.
9. Once it feels a bit firm, give a good support of glue around the stub.

I did 6 such stubs. It has been more than 6mos and they have been holding up pretty well.

Time taken - less than an hr.
Cost - less than $5 if you have the tools already.
