Wife just texted me and said it is doing same thing again. Slow agitating and then completely stopped, motoor and everything. I will put it diagnostic mode when I get home and see if it agitates back and forth or only one direction. If so, then transmission is bad, correct. But would that cause motor to completely shut down? How much would a tranny cost and is there somewhere I can order and return for refund if not tbe problem? Thanks and sorry to bother so much.

Washer doing same again. From agitating it slowed down until came to complete stop. But if its the transmissio n that is bad would that cause motor to shut down. Why does it seem tobe working fine fo about half hourr and then stop?

Well, seems after talking to my wife the motor doesent stop completely; it slows down substantially if she puts a heavier load of clothes. So the less clothes in the washer the slower it agitates but it gets really slow. So she took out some clothes and the agitating sped up but still not normal speed. I just changed the tub seal and there is water leaking right above where the belt is and water is la nding on the belt . I'm thinking that after a while the belt gets so wet that it begins s to slip or something and causes the motor to slow down?? What could be causing leak? The tub seal I took out didn't look too bad. I just want to eliminate the leak possibility before buying new transmission. Thanks for any help I can get.

Sorry to keep reposting. Another observation I made is that the water leak is coming down the big pulley' shaft area. So as the water comes dripping down the shaft, or up in that area and gets close to the spinning pulley, the pulley is splashing the water onto the belt.

So I put it in diagnostic and it does agitate back and forth, on both low and high agitate. So hopefully that indicates that the problem is not the transmission. So again, when agitating the agitator slows when add heavy to moderate clothes and agitates better when light load. Any tips , advice please.
