GE Cooktop: My left front burner does not ignite. The other three burners show a spark and ignite the gas when a knob is turned on but there is no spark or flame on the left front.

Turn one of the other burners on, take an insulated screwdriver and lay it on the burner head and bring the other end close to the ignitor head and see if a smaller gap will jump. If so you probably have a bad ignitor and they can crack or get contaminated. Usually not easy to replace them.

Thank you festeraddams, you are right. I used an insulated screw driver and the spark jumped to it. The spark was very weak and the screwdriver had to be within an eighth of an inch to spark. Now to figure out if the part is replaceable...
