I have searched threads, and can't find an answer to this.

The washer fills but when it should agitate nothing happens. There is a faint hum in the control panel but no other discernable noise. The timer will continue to advance and then drain rinse and spin, but still no agitation.

Can anyone help me with this?

If it spins ok in the permanent press cycle, then the problem is the timer.
