Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 2/21/2014(UTC) Posts: 1		Start Device [relay and overload] melted. Wire leads and compressor pins look good - need emery cleaning. Before installing new start device, what else should be checked? Something obviously caused the start device failure. Or did it fail on its own? New capacitor advised? How to check compressor at pins? Frig is 1998 - no failures or symptoms until now - could smell the melting
