Maytag DE712 - will not operate in Sensor modes

Hi,
My Maytag dryer, DE712, runs and heats in the timed cycle only. I have checked the continuity of all sensors that I can find, and they all seem to be OK. I pulled the timer apart, and it is very simple inside, no contacts seem to be burned or pitted. The timer functions on the timed dry cycle.
I have been told that the timer is probably the problem, but I am not so sure. With the contacts all appearing OK I suspect something else. Why would the one cycle work but the automatic sensor cycles not work if the timer was not working ? The motor seems to work, because the timer will rotate the knob during the timed cycle.
It would seem as if there is something in the auto sensor side of the unit.
I have the original Wiring Diagram and also the Ladder Diagram. I have not figured out a way to attach these files, I also do not know where to post them if that can be done here.
Thanks, Doug

I could not find any info on this unit, could be it is too old.
I am off to the lake this weekend but perhaps can help a little.
To attach a image it is the icon with a mountain and a square in it (Insert Image). This may help someone else help you if they have the diagram. |

Hi Denman, I was able to post the Schematic and Ladder Diagram into a facebook account. Here is the URL. Doug O. Hughes's Photos - Wall Photos | FacebookI hope that this works for you. I have about 3 days to fix this or call a service tech locally. Hope that you have some good insights. Thanks for your help ! Doug

Could not read the wiring diagram, just too blurry and more importantly the timer chart.
Unfortunately the Ladder Diagram does not show the circuit path for Auto cycles. |

How can I get you a better copy ? Is there an email service I can attach the original file to ? Is there another place within AppliancePartsPros.com where I can attach or post the file ?
Thanks, Doug

How can I get you a better copy ? Without seeing the original I cannot say, many of the diagrams they put into units are blurry to start with. Also a lot depends on how good your scanner is and what resolution you are scanning at. I any case I would need a very good copy in order to trace out the circuit. This unit seems very complicated for what they are trying to achieve. Is there an email service I can attach the original file to ? Could try the Insert Image as I mentioned earlier. But I have never done this myself. Is there another place within AppliancePartsPros.com where I can attach or post the file Not that I know of. |
