I have a dryer that will not shut off. I have to open the door to stop it. It advances through all cycles, auto sensing and timed dry but will not shut itself off. sometimes it will dry the clothes, sometimes it wont dry them.. I replaced the thermal shutoff but didn't change a thing. any ideas?

Most likely a faulty timer. If you buy from APP, you may return the timer if it doesn't fix the problem.
