Banging ... drum won't spin ...
Opened it up and I can physically move the motor. I cannot spin the drum. Noticed a belt (?) sitting below the clutch hub on top of the gear case. BTW the clutch hub spins well. Where is that belt supposed to be?

Model number??? Assume this is a direct drive model. That's not a belt, its a sound dampening ring that goes on the outside of the brake drum. Just toss it. If you don't get any noisy ringing when in spin mode or when spin stops, don't worry about it. So, in spin mode, clutch hub is spinning? If so, look above clutch hub into the brake hub. Are brakes and spring spinning? If so, sounds like a bad drive block.
