Thanks Eric,

My maytag washer model is LAT9806DAQ.
I find shaft center parts number from parts vendor web site.

The stop collar little gear of shaft center is worn. My father screwed out the pulley drive and
he doesn't see the gear both on the shaft center and stop lug. He used hammer to put stop lug back to shaft center. So, both gears are destroyed.

I bought the new stop lug, brake removal tool and lip seal. Certainly, l need to buy the shaft center.
Do these above parts and tool enough to do the shaft center replacement? How does the assembly method between the shaft center and transmission housing?

In your first post, you listed the model number as LAT9593AAW. You do not need to remove the brake. To replace the center shaft, take the set screw out of the stop collar inside the transmission and pull the shaft out of the bottom of the transmission. The transmission is full of oil. You will either need to lay the washer on it's back and open transmission cover with it facing up and then rotate it to dump oil in a bucket or you will have to remove the tubs so you can remove the whole transmission to work on it somewhere else.

Hi Eric, this is Lester.....the last 5-6 posts here are from someone else (Salcen). You have been communicating with him and I don't know who he is and why this all of a sudden appeared on my thread. If you look back, everything below (after) the pic you posted for me of the gears inside trans is not me.

Hi! LesterS, Eric,

I am sorry to interrupt your dialogue for repair washer issues.
My name is Salcen and I am working to fix my shaft center of the transmissionn at home these days.

My question to Eirc is about how to replace the shaft center of the bottom transmission. My model number is LAT9806DAQ. I checked and there is a little oil on the lip seal when open the pulley drive and brake. Now, I want to replace the lip seal and shaft center of bottom transmission at the same time. Is it OK to do this issue without open the transmission cover and set screw?

Thanks!
