My GE Top Load Washer agitator was making a grinding noise and then stopped. We were able to drain, but it will not spin or fill now. Did the reset motor function and it will turn on, but not spin/agitate or fill?
Help...

Motor reset does not apply to this model. What do you mean, it will turn on? There is no display or indicator that it is on.
Open front panel and disconnect hose from air dome on lower left side of tub. Clean out any gunk in the hose and from inside the air dome. Air dome is not removable so you will need to use a wire to get inside and also try to flush out with hot water. Be careful, you don't want to break the hose nipple off! Reconnect hose and try washer again.

Yes, it will turn on (hum) during all periods of the cycle. I have not run it through the cycles, just turned the dial to different points. The agitator acts like it wants to move, but just shakes and makes a strange noise. Will not fill with water or spin. I will take the panel off tonight. Thanks for your help

It should not attempt agitation until it fills with water. May be a problem with the water level switch or timer but first do the checks I suggested.

Thanks Eric, After your message last night I attempted to start a cycle. The tub filled and agitated, but at the spin cycle would not spin. It did drain. I attempted to start the cycle again and it would not fill, but agitated. I assumed a cycle hadn't satisfied. I did as you instructed. Cleaned the tube into the air dome. It was completely blocked. Flushed the Air Dome out as well with hot water and ran a cycle again. This one worked! Amazing. Will try with a load now. Is there anything else I should be looking at or doing? I very much appreciate your help!
