I have a Kitchen Aid wine cooler that will not get cold.
With the rear panel removed, it appears the fan and compressor are working.
I've got the thermostat set at the coldest position but it's not getting any colder.
Any ideas???

Here are your parts
Parts for KUWS24RSBS - AppliancePartsPros.com

You seem to be missing a couple digits at the end of the model number so choose a unit from the "Matching Model Numbers" section.

I am assuming that you can feel the compressor vibrating.

Is the fan in the cooler compartment on?

Remove the cover so you can inspect the evaporator coils.
If the compressor is running and there is no cooling at the evaporator coils then it is a sealed system problem and is probably not worth fixing.

So I figured it out. It's the thermostat.

Here's the new question: how the heck do you get the controller out of the plastic housing box? The knob's off but it looks like the controller is riveted on down inside the box.

Why does everything have to be soooo difficult :)

I have never pulled one of theses apart so cannot be of much use.

If the rivets you refer to are on the sides of the knob side of the thermostat then you will have to drill them out.
If you click on a parts picture or description you should get a better view of it which may help.

I am not sure why you are removing the thermostat.
If the compressor is running all the time then the thermostat is doing it's job but the unit cannot reach set point temperature for some reason and therefore never starts cycling.

I have a KitchenAid KUWS24LSSS that cools but never any colder than 65 degrees. A Sears repairman did a couple procedures and said if that didn't cure the problem then it wasn't worth fixing. Then Charged $65 and said have a nice day. I hoping you found a fix.
