The over would not turn off. The element got white hot and finally burned out. First of all, is there an electrical schematic available for these electric ranges? How is the on-off controlled? Is it simply a contactor or is it by means of SCR's or triacs? I would assume that since it did not turn off it either did not get a signal to turn off of what ever controls the on-ff is shorted.
Thanks,
Tom

Need a Model Number to have any hope of finding a wiring diagram.
Most stoves just use a relay. Often the contacts weld together but can be other causes. |
