Hi All, My Fridgidaire FRS26HF7BB2 side by side will cool for 2 weeks then stop cooling, everything will thaw in the freezer, then will start cooling again, repeating the process again. This has gone on for 3 months. I hired a reputable company to diagnose it, and was told since it was cooling at the time of diagnosis, he could only guess at the repair. The Tech told me it was probably the defrost control # 240554502 or the Evaporator thermostat # 5303918214. I replaced both parts and still have the same issue. Last night I noticed the freezer had some frost developing, and over night the unit stopped cooling. I pulled the unit out and found the condenser fan was on and the evaporator fan was off. I turned the refrigerator temp knob and ten minutes later the evaporator fan turned on and the unit started cooling again. I don't know if turning the refrigerator temp knob mattered.

Thanks for any support.

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram.

When you puled the unit out and found the condenser fan running, was the compressor running?
You can usually hear it but also should be able to feel it vibrating.

Whenever the condenser fan is on the compressor should be on as they are wired in parallel.
So if the fan is on and the compressor off you may have a loose connection or a problem with the compressor's start device.
