Help! My dryer works sometimes and other times it turns but does not heat at all! I have read about this dryer here, and read that it could be the blower motor, but here is the weird part: the panel sometimes gets these lines all over it (see photo) and, when it does this, the dryer DOES work! When the panel looks normal, it does NOT work. So, each time I go to start it up, when it lights up and the control panel looks normal, I don't bother because I know it wont work. And when I see it looking all weird with the "stripes", I'm happy because I know that it WILL work.
I just want to know if this is something in the panel that can be fixed, because I had a repairman out here and he said he'd replace the blower motor but could not be sure that would fix the problem. And he said the same thing about trying to fix the panel. He saw it (the stripes) and STILL insisted that it needed a blower motor, but the way it looks to me, somehow the problem in the panel is determining if/when the dryer will work.
Anyone ever see the control panel do this? I'd rather not pay for him to fix BOTH things just because he doesn't exactly know what is causing the problem. Thanks for any help, and please see the picture here:
