I've got a GE stacked washer/dryer, problems with dryer. It runs and dries about 15-20 min, shuts off. Restarts when I hold the start button in, stops when button is released. I let it set overnite, runs and dries 15-20 min the next day, same thing. Vent is clean.

I have no experience on this model but looking at the wiring diagram, this would have to be either the belt switch or the motor switch. GE parts doesn't even list this version. They have EM3WW and EM5WW but no EM4WW. I don't even see a part number for the motor in the other versions. You can jump out the belt switch as a test to see if this is the problem. Switch should be near the belt idler pulley and motor area.

Thanks for the quick reply. I had the same problem with model number, I think this is a one off production run for Lowes, the front panel is identical to the EM3WW. A puzzle here, it ran a full load, dried well, then when I put in another load it started, ran briefly, quit, restarted when I held the start button for about 30 seconds, it's still running. Is there a centrifugal switch in there ?

Yes, that's the motor switch that I refered to. The switch is probably not replaceable or serviceable which is typical of GE but since I don't see a part number for the motor, I can't even try to look it up to find anything out about it.
Eric
Added: Found the motor part number on the wiring diagram. WE17M45 if you want to look it up. As I say, I'm not familiar with this washer/dryer.
Tech sheet (mini-manual) that I have is 31-16656. That's the one listed for the EM3WW and EM5WW. Your EM4WW may be different. Mini-manual should be inside the cabinet somewhere.
