Ok so I've checked the suspension plate I think its called, all 3 springs are still firmly attached as well as the balance spring in the back. I checked all the damper pads and they are in place as well. What else could it be that I'm missing? Could it simply be unlevel?

I checked the damper pads on the top and bottom, everything seems to be fine.
I'm thinking about putting it back together and trying to have another go at it. I just don't want to take it back apart again in 5 minutes. Since I have the cover off is there anything else I should look at in the lines of preventive maintenance?

It does have to be level. Check the bottom of the suspension plate where it contacts the damper pads on the base assembly. It can get gummed up so that it won't slide smoothly on the pads. Have a couple people lift up on the tub so that you can rotate the plate out of place to get to those contact areas.

Ok well I got the new coupler installed, new lid switch, looked everything over and it all looks kosher. Get it all back together and she wont spin or agitate. I put it on light load so I wouldn't have to drain a ton of water and it filled it to within 3" of the top and now nothing. I unhooked the lid switch, redid everything, don't see any difference. I wiggled a wire or two and got a bunch of clicking out of the timer and once it sounded like it was gonna take off and then nothing. I can't find a loose connection anywhere and now its not getting any power at all. Starting to think its time to start looking for a new washer. Got a weeks worth of laundry backed up. I tried to bypass the lid switch again and still nothing. What more can I do?

Went back a few minutes ago and pulled the knob and it started making noise again. Nothing kicking on though just a steady hum.

Well, you need to do some electrical troubleshooting, probably something simple. That's a decent Whirlpool direct drive washer you have there. Better than anything you can get nowadays and worth fixing.

Me and electrical generally don't get along lol. I'll do some research on here and see what I can find. Any help you can offer me in the meantime would be awesome. Thanx man, you've been very helpful. I just hope its something small and cheap and easy to fix.

Starting to look like it might be the timer. Is it normal for the tub to almost completely fill on a light load? Is there anyway I can trouble shoot the timer without a voltmeter? I don't own one but starting to think I should. I will get this thing fixed!! :)

Water level is controlled by the water level pressure switch, not the timer. Unless you find the obvious, you will need a multimeter to find the problem. Check the connections at the motor. Look for burned/corroded terminals, broken wires. Check connections at capacitor. Check the two connections at the motor thermal overload switch. Unplug motor connector and check terminals. Problems at motor connection are very common especially with the white wire (neutral).
