We have a Frigidaire FEQ1442ES1 dryer that has started turning on and beeping on its own.
We woke up this morning to it beeping. Opening the door did not turn it off. Cancel would turn it off temporarily and then it would come back on and beep. I've unplugged it.
Are there any manuals available that would help me diagnose the problem? The supplied user guides do not.

Thank-you denman for the quick reply!
I will attempt to get the error code and go from there.

I could not get any error codes out of the unit, which makes sense since I've unplugged the unit numerous times. I was able to do some testing though, which seemed to pass with flying colors.
I will post back again if and when it goes into crazy mode.
I really appreciate your help!

Sorry it's taken this long, but my wife hasn't been using the dryer much because this time of year she hangs almost everything outside.
Anyway, I wanted to confirm that lint wasn't causing the weirdness so took the machine apart and verified there was no lint blockage anywhere. Put it all back together and then tested again (thanks again Denman for the Tech Data sheet). Everything tested OK.
So the only thing left is this: When the unit is off (and plugged in) I open the door, close it and the lights go on, as if I turned the knob to a new setting, and it beeps a few times (beep, pause, beep, pause, beep, pause). If I press Cancel sometimes the lights go off and sometimes not. I went through the "Reading Error Codes" but nothing shows.
Any ideas?

And this morning my wife awoke to the beeping from the dryer, just as I described in my first post, so she unplugged it. I plugged it back in to see if it would do the same thing, which it has, so I will attempt to get Error codes from it when I am done working this afternoon. Tim
