My Maytag Bravo quiet series 300 is putting grease spots on my clothes and when I took it apart, there is grease under the cap on top of agitator. Please help.

The apperance of grease, which can only come from the transmission (unless you accidentally put something full of grease in the machine) means the machine is not long for this world.
