Guys,

I recently replaced a main control board for my Kitchenaid dishwasher as I had issues with the soap dispenser being operated during the cycles. The washer is functioning normally, but I have something that is bugging me. When I select the cycle and then choose start when the door is open and the proceed to close the door I still have to choose start to start the cycle. I can't remember if this is normal or not as I have a counter lip that comes over the top of the washer so it's difficult to select the buttons once the door is closed. Is this normal or if you choose start and it's flashing should the cycle or delayed cycle start when the door is closed? I've checked the door switch and it seems to be functioning normally and like I said the washer is going through all the cycles but this function is bugging me. If this is not normal where should I look? The diagnostic cycle runs normally (High Temp, Heated Dry) as well. Any ideas?

Correct, but if you press the start button with the door open and then shut the door should the cycle start as I'm pretty sure it used to? As of now I press start and then shut the door and have to press start to initiate the cycle.
