The ice maker in my Whirlpool refrigerator makes ice fine, but the ice at the bottom of the ice bin freezes to hard for it to be crushed and dispensed through the door. How do I correct this issue?

Something is intermittent in this fridg that's making the freezer warm up and partially thaw the ice cubes. Could be anything.
Could be a shorted defrost thermostat, evaporator fan motor problem, or just a clogged condenser in back of the kick panel under the door.

Thanks for the information. I am going to check the condenser first, move to the evaporator fan motor, then move to the defrost thermostat. Thank you again the information.
