The washer goes through a cycle and seems to stall when it gets past the rinse stage. It should progress to drain & spin but does not. I replaced the timer switch and it does the same thing. Is there a drain solenoid involved?

The lid switch? That's connected to the drain function. Why would the washer go all the way through to the rinse cycle and then refuse to drain? The lid tendons closed throughout?

Lid switch has no effect on fill and agitate functions but does for drain and spin. Open switch, no drain or spin.

That was it! The switch was irreparably broken. Bypassed it and all is fine. Will order the lid switch right away.
Thanks very much!
