Hi all,

Hoping you can help me figure out an oven problem I'm having with a house I just bought.

It has an older Frigidaire oven range and when I go to preheat the oven it won't turn on until I turn the know to 400 + degrees. I hear a click from the knob when it reaches that point and then the light comes on and it begins to heat up. Anything less than that no dice. Kind of hard to bake anything at these extreme temps.

Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone know where I might get a manual for this particular model? It has analog timers and clock and I would like to know how to set them to make sure it doesn't affect it's run time.

Thanks!

Here are your parts
Parts for Frigidaire FEF357BADB Range - AppliancePartsPros.com

Sounds like an infinite switch problem.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I was aware of the parts link but thanks so much for being on the safe side.

When you say infinite switch which part number are you referring to? Want to make sure I get it right. Is it a fairly simply procedure to replace it?

Any idea where I could possibly get a manual?

Thanks again!

The infinite switches are 54 and 54A in section 02.
Which one is used is dependent on the size/location of the element.
the parts people will know which is the correct switch.

They are usually not difficult to replace.
If you click on the switch's description or picture a new page will open with more info about the parts.

Sorry but I do not know where a manual is available.
I tried both the Frigidaire consumer and service sites with no luck.

Thanks so much for the quick reply!

I apologize for my slow response. I've been out of town and now it's time to tackle this job for a little Christmas baking.

I'll see what I can do and I'll keep you posted on my success.

Thanks so much for trying to locate the manual even though they don't appear out there.
