My dishwasher fills with water, then shuts off. Sometimes it makes it through a whole cycle. I ran the diagnostic cycle, all the LEDs came on, it filled with water for a minute, then all the lights went off and it stopped. If I repeatedly press start when it stops, I can eventually get it to wash, but then it stops after a wash cycle. I push the drain button, then push rinse and I rinse the dishes, the I push heated dry. So it is functioning as long as I manage the buttons. Someone suggested that the bearings in my motor were probably deteriorating, but how can I tell if it is the motor or the control board that is malfunctioning?

I am having the same issue as the original post.

If I am persistant it will run throughout the cycle but it is the very beginning either during filling, heating, or the first 30 seconds of running the pumps that it will shut off.

I hit start and reenter the options (usually heated dry and sani rinse) and wait. After a few seconds to a minute it starts the pumps or fills some more water and shuts off.

Running a straight normal cycle without options has no improved effect.

Once it is going for more than a minute, it finishes the entire wash.

In my case, the problem turned out to be the control board. My dishwasher problems sounded just like yours. Another forum suggested I needed a new pump, but I knew it pumped ok when I could cajole it into working. I ordered a control board from a site that takes back parts, no questions asked for 90 days (think it was 120 dollars) and my husband and I watched a YouTube on changing the control board and switched it out. It worked immediately, and has been washing everyday for a month and a half. The old control board looked fine. I know I read several posts that said they plugged and unplugged their control boards and it started working---you might try that first but it didn't work for us. Good luck!
