Ten year old fridge. Refrigerator/freezer not cooling, and there's a repeating buzz and click coming from the compressor area as it tries to start. Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz click. Tried replacing the start capacitor. It worked for a few days then started the same thing again. Any ideas besides calling in a priest?

If all you replaced was the run capacitor, then you may need to replace the start relay that is mounted directly on the compressor. If you already replaced that as well, then you are probably looking at a bad compressor. Here is a link to that start relay...does this look like what you replaced? Frigidaire 5304468029 Relay and Plug Kit - AppliancePartsPros.com by the way, if the start relay is bad, then you will usually hear loose parts rattling around if you shake it. sometimes this isnt the case, but if you do hear loose parts in there, you know its bad. Once again, if you DID replace the start relay and your problem reappeared, you are looking at a bad compressor.

Changed out the part. Looks like it's the compressor.

for that, you'd need to contact an appliance repair service. breaking into the sealed system requires a license and special equipment :(

It makes more money sense to replace the whole fridge, so that's what we're going to do, unfortunately. It's too bad because the rest of it's in good shape.
Thanks for all the tips.
